What is an "AGS 000" stone?

An AGS 000 diamond represents the following:

Ideal Polish + AGS Ideal Symmetry +

AGS Ideal Proportions = AGS-000 Ideal Cut

It is rare for a diamond to receive an AGS 000 rating. In fact, fewer than 1% of all round brilliant cut diamonds in the world receive this grade.

To receive an AGS 000 rating, a diamond must receive a "perfect" score (0) in three major areas—proportion, polish and symmetry.

To obtain a 0 score within the proportion component, a diamond must receive a 0 score in five different areas—crown angle, pavilion depth, table diameter, girdle thickness and culet size.

The following five charts show the specific parameters that AGS uses for grading proportions.

To obtain score for both polish and symmetry, a diamond must fall within the following parameters.
